Sadly Hyperchip ain't no more, but its memory still lives on in the hearts and minds of the amazing people who made the Hyperchip team and who did not spare ingenuity, effort and sleepless nights to bring to market the amazing Petabit Router..

This site is dedicated to the memory of what Hyperchip used to be, not only from a technology perspective, as incredibly complex and powerful as it was,  but especially from a human quality standpoint, call it team spirit.

True, we were  "employees", but above all, we were a cohesive, mostly self-directed team, engaged on a mission - to build the most powerful Internet core router on the planet, against all odds and beating entrenched competitors.

The end of the last millenia saw many startups coming with promising ideas spurred by the exponential growth of the Internet. Many were darlings of venture capital funds and  Hyperchip was topping the list.

It's been 20 years since the beginning of the end for many of these startup companies and even for established ones, all triggered by the uncertainty following the 9/11 events. Sadly, Hyperchip was not spared, but it fought to the end.

Designing and building the Petabit Router was no easy undertaking and especially no hype - it was top-notch software, hardware and telecom engineering relying on top-notch technologies, sometimes hard to tame.

At the time, Hyperchip  was young and acted like a magnet for the best and brightest engineering minds in Montreal and well beyond in Canada and US. Finding the best talent for growing the team was no easy task though.

For many in the team, especially younger people, Hyperchip was like a second home away from home, a place to work hard and play hard, building long term friendships in the process .
